When Collaboration Is Your Little Black Dress

Panel.

Like a little black dress, no woman should be without a little collaboration.

The power of women is in full effect in this dynamic panel of content creators and producers who have created a formidable body of work by working *with* each other.

Created & Moderated by Peppur Chambers (Brown Betties; Writer/Producer/Actor)

Featuring :

Morenike Evans – Director/Writer/Producer Black Pearl Filmworks
Hanna Steadman – Choreographer/Dancer/Producer/ Step It Up. LLC
Kelly V. Dolan – Actress / Host of NBC News Radio / Owner of Step It Up, LLC
Nicole Adelman – Actor, Producer
Tina McDowelle – Singer/Producer/Personality
Tanya Alexander – Poet/Choreographer/Director; Supernova Productions Group

Via my own 10-year body of work, we demonstrate 4 Key Success Factors:

  1. Minor is just as important as Major – You don’t have to wait for or pound on the doors of the major studios, producers or directors that you read about in Variety to get your work produced. Your personal network is valuable, knowledgeable and accessible. We show you how to use it.
  2. YOUR content is King – As content creators, and especially as women, we don’t always accept the value of our creative worth because we’re not on a red carpet. We make our own and explain why.
  3. Vacuums Suck – Asking for help is tantamount to success. Doing everything yourself (producing, writing, directing, acting, crafty, editing) sucks. Our stories help you avoid sucking.
  4. Reciprocate – When your sister needs you, don’t make her ask twice.
