Gosh, this woman made me cry. She purposefully chose to sit next to me on the bus from LA to AZ…long into the trip she finally spoke. She told me that’s she’s 79; that her country is Vietnam, that she spoke French. I said, “Me, too!”…she said, “My ears not good. My eyes not good…” I said, “Your heart is good!” We laughed. She told me she is scared sometimes. She teared up and told me, “Don’t get alone. Get married. Don’t get alone.” As we neared her stop she told me I was beautiful and that she is my sister. “Old, old, old sister,” she laughed. She hugged me tight, squeezing my hand. I held her back. Her hands were soft and caring as was her message. I share this with each of you. Xo
